Just send your money home. Don't pay for it.

Currently, the only way to send money internationally is to send it someone's VISA® Debit, Credit or Prepaid card. We are already working on offering other ways of transferring money internationally to bank accounts, for cash pickups, and mobile top-ups, so stay tuned!

In the U.S., you can send money directly to another Simba customer's account using their phone number. You can also send to any U.S. VISA® Debit, Credit or Prepaid card with the same process as the international transfers.

You'll need to request that they send it to you over an encrypted messaging app like Whatsapp or Signal. You will need their name, phone number, card number, expiration date, country of issuance and their address to add them as a recipient in Simba. You only need to add them one time. Don't worry - without their PIN or CVV code you will not be able to use this information for any purpose other than to send money to them from your Simba account. Soon, recipients will be able to enter their own information within the app themselves.

Simba is on a mission to drive down the cost of money transfers around the world. In some places, the average cost to send money home is around 20% of the amount sent. To us, this is predatory and unacceptable. The UN Sustainable Development goals include a target cost of 3% for all global remittances (with a total cost of no more than 5%). We’re doing our part to achieve this goal.

Unlike other money transfer services, Simba will also have banking services - we’ll make money from our other products in order to offset the cost of these transfers.
